Position Specific Description:
The successful candidate will join A Wholesale Electricity Supplier Company's Federal Regulatory Affairs team, a high-functioning and collaborative in-house legal team based out of A Wholesale Electricity Supplier Company's Washington, D.C. office that includes seven FERC attorneys plus support staff. The team represents A Wholesale Electricity Supplier Company and its subsidiaries before FERC. The ideal candidate will have law firm or in-house experience and demonstrable expertise in matters related to FERC-jurisdictional cost-of-service ratemaking, regulatory accounting, and incentive rate treatments available under FERC Order No. 679. The role is being created to provide a dedicated FERC legal resource for A Wholesale Electricity Supplier Company Transmission, which is the leading competitive transmission company in North America. We develop, finance, construct, operate and maintain transmission assets across the continent. We operate through our regional subsidiaries to integrate generation resources and enhance grid reliability.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Provides written and oral legal advice to clients
  • Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization
  • Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel
  • Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:
  • Member in Good Standing of State Bar
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Juris Doctorate
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience:5+ years
