The Job:
Discover impactful work as our new Senior Manager, Contracts Counsel. This role sits within our Pharma Services Group (PSG), where legal support for commercial contracting is provided by the Global Contracts & Legal team which comprises both legal counsel and contracts professionals. As Contracts Counsel within this team, you will provide leadership and guidance for all legal aspects of commercial contracting across PSG on either a global or regional basis.

This role can be fully remote, hybrid (office / home), or fully onsite based nearby our US offices in Pittsburgh, PA or Morrisville, NC. Occasional international travel may be required – up to 15% per year - with some overnight stays.

What Will You Do?
  • Support drafting, review and negotiation of development and manufacturing services contracts
  • Support and advise the contracts professionals team
  • Contribute to the development of contract templates and playbooks for use across PSG

Who we are looking for:
  • Law degree and admission to and in good standing with a state bar.
  • At least five years experience (preferably in-house or in a full-service international law firm) with experience in commercial, corporate or litigation matters
  • Excellence in drafting and reviewing contractual documents for high-value services, with an emphasis on experience in drafting non-standard complex language to ensure enforceability of customer commitments and to provide necessary protection for An American Scientific Healthcare Software & Instruments Company
  • Experience leading complex contract discussions and closing business deals
  • Understanding the legal consequence of contract terms and the likely result in the event of any litigation or arbitration. Applying this understanding to contract drafting
  • Demonstrated ability to achieve positive results in a heavily matrixed environment through influence, negotiation and organizational change.
  • Ability to present information to people at all levels of the company including executive briefings
  • Confirmed ability to develop collaborative and positive relationships both internally and within third party organizations
  • Awareness of European and US laws and regulations applicable to the pharmaceutical, biotech or life sciences sectors (including cGMP) would be an advantage;
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication (written and verbal) skills, including tailoring communication approaches to audiences of varying legal and technical sophistication.
