Position Overview:
We're seeking experienced Litigation Attorneys for our Personal Injury Litigation Division for our Layton, Utah office. The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation or personal injury/medical malpractice work, with strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills. You'll be expected to uphold our core values and contribute to our mission of caring for people through excellent legal representation.

Key Requirements:
  • Active Arizona, Idaho, or Utah Bar License (mandatory based on location)
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and legal writing skills
  • Experience in civil or criminal litigation, personal injury, medical malpractice, products liability, mass torts or class actions including:
  • Must have been first chair on at least three jury trials
  • Must have conducted at least 20 depositions as the taking attorney
  • Must have argued at least three summary judgment motions
  • Must have argued at least five Motions in Limine
  • Must have helped empanel at least three juries
  • Must have filed and argued at least five Statement of Discovery Issues (or something similar depending on jurisdiction)
  • Must have prepared at least 10 witnesses for their deposition or direct examination
  • Must have prepared at least 10 expert witnesses for their deposition or direct examination
  • Must have cross examined at least five expert witnesses
  • Must have conducted at least five depositions of designated corporate representatives
  • Must have participated in at least 10 mediations
  • Must have been first chair on at least two arbitrations
  • Must have settled at least 20 cases
  • Must have worked with appellate counsel or been appellate counsel on at least two cases
  • Must have filed suit on at least 50 cases
  • Proficiency in legal research (Lexis and Westlaw)
  • Strong knowledge of the applicable Rules of Civil Procedure, Evidence, and Professional Conduct
  • Ability to travel for work-related activities

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the bar in [hired on State] or the ability to quickly bar.
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to travel for work related purposes.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and case management software.

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Base Salary: up to $350,000 per year (based on experience and qualifications)
  • Benefits: Health, Dental, Vision, PTO, 401(k) with 3% matching,
  • Quarterly Incentives with a potential yearly value of more than $500,000. Please note, these incentives are not guaranteed. These incentives are based on your performance and ability to produce revenue for our clients and the firm. If you are unable to meet minimum performance goals and expectations, you may not qualify for any quarterly incentives. Additionally, you must be employed by the firm for an entire quarter to qualify for any incentives.
