The Fort Lauderdale office of Fisher Phillips is seeking a Litigation Associate with 5+ years of defense-side complex litigation experience to join our growing team. Ideal candidates will bring meaningful experience managing sophisticated matters independently. More experienced candidates are welcome to apply and should have at least some portable business.

About the role:
Qualified candidates will have significant experience handling complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, including:
  • Drafting and responding to pleadings
  • Managing written and electronic discovery, including e-discovery strategy
  • Drafting and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions
  • Taking and defending depositions
  • Leading or substantially participating in mediations and trials
  • Mentoring junior attorneys and collaborating with litigation teams

Admission to the Florida Bar is required.

Experience with wage-and-hour litigation, counseling clients on wage-and-hour compliance, and managing Department of Labor investigations is a plus.

While prior employment law experience is preferred, we are equally interested in senior litigators from other defense-side complex litigation practices who demonstrate a strong interest in developing an employment law practice and contributing to firm growth.
