Overview:
A vacancy has arisen for a lawyer to join the US Sales & Trading Legal team, in New York or Jacksonville. The role involves supporting our global businesses with transactional, regulatory. Other advice concerning financial products, especially derivatives, structured lending and repo.

What You'll Do:

Advising on US legal and regulatory aspects of financial transactions, or organizing external counsel to provide that advice
Drafting, or organizing external counsel to draft, a variety of transaction documentation for structured lending, repos and derivatives
Spotting legal risk issues, working on product development, internal product approval, netting and other relevant processes
Be embedded with US Sales & Trading Legal team members who are based in New York (3 team members) and Jacksonville (4 team members), and reporting to the head of the US Sales & Trading Legal team
Working with internal clients from across the globe, but particularly with colleagues in the New York front-office team, and the New York and Jacksonville Legal teams

Skills You'll Need

A good quality academic training in law, and qualification as a US attorney
At least Moderate of legal experience with derivatives, repo and/or other structured financial transactions, gained as a lawyer in a law Firm or in-house. (Note that although the product range is broad, we do not expect candidates to have mastered every asset class and product type… yet.)
A genuine interest in financial services and markets that goes beyond the desire to just earn a salary
