Main Responsibilities:
- Providing legal counsel to management and real estate business staff with respect to the structuring, documentation and negotiation of real estate transactions
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts, leases, and other real estate-related legal documents.
- Conducting due diligence in connection with real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
- Serve as primary real estate counsel for two operational divisions.
- Providing legal support for the day-to-day management of owned and leased properties.
- Collaborating with other internal teams, including finance, property management, and operations, to support business objectives.
- Managing the paralegal functions that support the portfolio to which you are assigned.
- Development of other attorneys and paralegals.
- Supervising outside counsel and overseeing outside counsel work to ensure delivery of high quality, cost-effective legal services.
- Support efforts to build belonging in the Legal Department and the Company
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:
- Law Degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Bar Membership in California or Idaho.
- At least ten (10) years of sophisticated commercial real estate transaction experience, including representation of retail tenants and/or landlords and developers on a wide range of matters, including acquisition, development, leasing and management of commercial properties.
- Experience with Ironclad a plus
- A broad and in-depth knowledge of real estate legal concepts, laws, and a variety of deal structures and documentation, preferably in a retail context.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills, well-developed drafting and negotiation skills, excellent analytical and creative problem-solving skills, and strong attention to detail.
