Job Purpose:
An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service is seeking a highly skilled Senior Legal Counsel with a minimum of 7+ years of experience to provide general legal support to assigned business units. There will be heavy focus on the review and negotiation of a wide variety of commercial real estate agreements (primarily industrial/warehouse leasing and related documents) and a wide variety of commercial contracts, including procurement/vendor contracts and customer contracts.

The successful candidate will:
  • Draft, analyze and negotiate a wide variety of real estate agreements supporting An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's operations and infrastructure to conclusion, and strong understanding of real estate contracting terms to protect An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's legal and business interests.
  • Draft, analyze and negotiate a wide range of commercial procurement/vendor contracts supporting An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's operations and infrastructure to conclusion, and strong understanding of contracting terms to protect An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's legal and business interests.
  • Provide general legal advice to clients served and advise members of the business on legal and related risks associated.
  • Work well as member of a closely-knit, diverse, and well-respected legal team defending and representing An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's interests.
  • Deliver trainings on legal topics relevant to the business and advise business on legal trends and developing areas of law.
  • Possess advanced and well-developed skills and knowledge within the contracts/transactions area with the ability to integrate theory and principals with An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's practices, policies, and precedents.
  • Lead various projects impacting business, operations and revenue, and liaise with management, business divisions, consultants, outside counsel, and other parties as appropriate, and perform other duties in support of the Legal Department, as assigned.

Your Tasks:
  • Provide legal support and strategic legal advice for all aspects and stages of An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's procurement/vendor contracts including, without limitation, drafting, analysis and negotiating professional services agreement, master supply agreements and other master services agreements, NDA's and RFP's to conclusion, interpret contract terms to protect An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service's legal and business interests, and provide legal advice on contract administration and other contracting issues/disputes
  • Liaising with real estate, operations, risk, tax, procurement, treasury and other business teams as applicable on respective agreements/issues.
  • Anticipates and guards against legal risk involving the company.
  • Support the requirements of An International Courier, Package Delivery and Express Mail Service Corporate Guidelines in reviewing contracts with our suppliers/vendors and landlords.
  • Provide technically accurate and commercially astute legal advice.
  • Research, draft memorandum, and prepare requested briefings and findings.
  • Advise on aspects of law and regulation applicable to the business unit.
  • Liaise and collaborating with external legal counsel on selected projects, and the concise and efficient interpretation of their advice.
  • Contract review and negotiation in line with instructions issued from divisional units assigned.
  • General counsel/ advice, legal disputes/litigation process.
  • Demonstrate ability to influence decisions/actions through provision of value-added inputs into the organization's business processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with business colleagues to serve as a trusted resource for legal support.
  • Develop and proactively contribute to IKOs/ Group KPIs with remote team members and monitor individual performance (where appropriate).

Your Profile:
  • B.A. (from an accredited college or university)
  • J.D. (from an accredited law school)
  • Currently licensed to practice law in a jurisdiction in the United States
  • Commercial Real Estate experience (with strong commercial leasing experience preferred, such as industrial/warehouse, office and/or retail). Purchase and sale and development experience is a plus.
  • General commercial contracting experience (with strong procurement/vendor contracting experience preferred, and strong understanding of contracting terms).
  • Ability to work in an organized, efficient manner; must work well with minimal supervision and have excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office and database systems
  • Detail oriented, capable of handling heavy, multi-layered client, ability to manage multiple projects and urgencies simultaneously, and be extremely responsive to tight turn around schedules for many transactions in various stages of development
  • Positive attitude and strong attention to detail are a must
