Position Summary:
A Financial Services Company is seeking a talented, motivated individual to join a small, collegial, team-oriented legal department in support of the firm's fast-growing global investment banking and capital markets business. This is an opportunity to learn all aspects of the financial services business from subject matter legal experts with professional growth opportunities for motivated attorneys. The ideal candidate will have significant exposure to various aspects of employment law, although this role will provide immediate exposure to areas outside employment law as well. The position is based in the firm's New York office.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Provide immediate support to the firm's Human Resources department in all aspects of human capital management
  • Gain exposure to additional potential areas of coverage, including litigation, privacy law, corporate secretarial functions, and more
  • Work collaboratively with various business groups while providing responsiveness, accountability, and unyielding integrity

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Excellent problem-solving skills; intellectual curiosity; demonstrated ability to take initiative, work independently and critically analyze various issues associated with complex legal questions
  • Practical and sound judgment; confident and able to find practical solutions to business questions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate and work closely in a collegial setting

Basic Qualifications:
At least two years of experience with a national law firm, with a J.D. from accredited law school

Work Location:
Currently, this role is expected to be in the ­­­­New York office at least 4 days per week
