Job Summary and Qualifications
The Senior Labor Counsel will assist the Managing Labor Counsel with day-to-day legal activities related to existing and potential traditional labor law related claims and issues in the corporate office and the various facilities and affiliates.
- Respond to questions from operators and claims raised before state and federal agencies (including and specifically the National Labor Relations Board), arbitrators and courts.
- Responsible for labor arbitrations, collective bargaining and associated legal issues and strategic coordination with other corporate departments in helping to implement overall objectives.
- Involved in the defense of traditional labor claims brought against these entities before federal, state, and local agencies as well as claims raised in the courts and before arbitrators.
- Work independently on behalf these entities or in conjunction with outside counsel. When working with outside counsel, Counsel will be responsible for the overall management of the case
Qualifications:
- JD from accredited law school
- 10+ years' legal experience
- Subject-matter expert on labor law regulatory compliance and risk management issues
- Admission to a state bar
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
