Description:

Baker Botts is seeking a Senior Associate or Counsel with more than six years of experience to join our Investment Funds practice in any of our U.S. offices (Austin, Dallas, Houston, New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco, and Washington, D.C.). The ideal candidate will have significant experience advising both (i) sponsors on fund formation matters and (ii) limited partners, including sovereign funds, on investments in private equity funds and other private investment vehicles. General experience with 1940 Act matters is expected, with experience regarding '40 Act funds a plus.

Our practice advises sponsors and investors across the full spectrum of alternative investments, including private equity, credit, energy and infrastructure, real estate, hedge funds, and other bespoke investment structures. We work with clients on all aspects of fund formation and operations, including structuring, fundraising, investor negotiations, governance, and ongoing regulatory and compliance matters.

We offer a broad and integrated platform, with funds lawyers regularly collaborating on private equity transactions, M&A, joint ventures, financings, and sponsor-side platform development. The team has particular depth in energy and infrastructure-focused funds, as well as experience advising on cross-border fund structures and global investor bases.
