Kelley Drye & Warren LLP is seeking a talented mid-level associate (4–6 years of experience) to join its leading International Trade Practice in the firm's Washington, DC office, with a primary focus on trade remedies matters, including antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings and tariff-related trade policy issues. The successful candidate will have meaningful experience advising clients with U.S. and global manufacturing operations on legal matters involving international trade compliance and import competition. This role offers the opportunity to work directly with experienced partners on sophisticated matters across a wide range of industries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide counsel on trade remedies, enforcement, and compliance issues
  • Represent clients in administrative proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. International Trade Commission, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative, and in litigation before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit
  • Prepare briefs, comments, petitions, and other written advocacy work product
  • Conduct legal research and analyze trade data and related business records to develop allegations and arguments
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the International Trade Practice, including Customs, Export Controls and Sanctions, and Trade Policy, as well as other firm groups (particularly Government Relations and Public Policy), on integrated client matters

Qualifications:
  • 4–6 years of experience practicing international trade law with a strong emphasis on trade remedies (Title VII) matters
  • Experience at a law firm, government agency, or both
  • Demonstrated experience handling Title VII matters, including investigations, administrative reviews, enforcement proceedings, and appellate litigation
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills
  • Strong academic credentials
  • Admission to practice law in the District of Columbia
  • Ability to manage multiple matters independently while working effectively in a team-oriented environment

This position is open to our Washington, DC office. Please note, Bar admission is required in an attorney's resident and/or affiliated office.

The salary range displayed is specifically for those potential hires who will work or reside in Washington, DC if selected for the role. Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data/ranges, applicant's skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees, and certifications (e.g., JD/technology) for example.
