Description:

Senior Litigation Counsel is responsible for managing litigation matters, including IP, commercial, and other Company dispute matters. Senior Litigation Counsel works with business leaders across the organization and other legal team members to assess risk and develop strategies for pre-dispute matters, dispute management, and dispute resolution. Senior Litigation Counsel provides legal advice on legal disputes and litigation matters and works closely with external advisors and internal leaders on legal issues. Senior Litigation Counsel reports to V.P., Intellectual Property, Products & Litigation and collaborates with the V.P. in performing responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage complex litigation matters involving IP, commercial, and other Company matters.
  • Develop, lead and oversee litigation strategy, including working directly with and managing outside counsel on a wide variety of matters.
  • Accountable for working with business leaders to resolve disputes involving the Company, including negotiating successful resolutions and actively participating in dispute resolution where applicable.
  • Assist with development of strategies for litigation prevention.
  • Identify and assess legal risks and advise on risk reduction and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Provide critical reporting and strategic legal guidance to business leaders and legal team management regarding assessment of risk and likely outcomes for both litigated cases and pre-litigation claims.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for litigation matters.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to provide legal guidance on risk-related strategy and compliance matters.

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • J.D. or equivalent and membership in a state bar required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience required with a large, preferably nationally recognized firm or relevant in-house experience in a technology environment.
  • Substantial experience managing litigation, including significant commercial and intellectual property litigation.
  • Strong computer skills, including Windows applications such as Word, is essential.
  • Possess high level of business acumen to work with business partners to find solutions to business needs and legal requirements.
  • Accountable and quality results oriented.
  • Responsive to internal clients and focused on meeting internal client objectives.
  • Experience with senior stakeholders on sensitive matters.
  • Self-motivated team player with the ability to drive projects, identify and resolve legal and business issues and earn the confidence and cooperation of business colleagues.
