As Senior Counsel, you will collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders, helping to advance mission-critical programs that protect data, support innovation, and drive company success. Key Responsibilities:
  • Support strategic legal counsel to the business team on regulatory compliance, privacy, product, AI, and marketing.
  • Draft and negotiate vendor contracts, including BAAs and DPAs, and provide support on escalated customer contract negotiations.
  • Enhance and evolve our HIPAA program to support business growth.
  • Scale legal infrastructure by refining and implementing policies, playbooks, and internal control procedures; performing audits and assessments, and conducting training to educate business partners.
  • Monitor regulatory developments (privacy, AI, and healthcare) and translate them into clear and actionable guidance.
  • Participate in cross-functional high-impact initiatives involving data governance, marketing, HR, privacy, product, AI, contracts, and compliance programs.
  • Support incident response and risk management.
  • Lead special projects and initiatives as the business evolves, with the opportunity to drive company-wide impact.

Qualifications and Skills:
  • J.D. from an accredited law school with an active U.S. bar membership in good standing in at least one jurisdiction.
  • 7+ years of relevant legal experience, including demonstrated in-depth knowledge of privacy laws and regulations, including CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and HIPAA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a strong ability to present complex legal concepts clearly and understandably.
  • Proven track record for formulating practical advice, with an ability to distill and effectively communicate risks and impact to business stakeholders.
  • Experience managing security incident response and advising on legal obligations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, capability to work independently, and to organize, prioritize, and manage simultaneous deadlines in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Demonstrated success in drafting and maintaining compliance documentation and supporting cross-functional business projects with excellent project management skills.
  • Experience with healthcare technology companies is a plus.
  • Active IAPP certification preferred (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, CIPT, and/or AIGP).

Salary Range: $180,000 to $225,000. This is a full-time exempt position. The salary range applies to the base salary. Compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to the employee's skill set, years of experience, and geographic location.
