What does a successful Senior Counsel do? A successful Senior Counsel at A Financial Services Technology, Mobile Banking and Payments Solution Company supports our Merchant Solutions division. You will focus on drafting and negotiating agreements with strategic bank partners and resellers, while also providing critical legal support our product teams. You will provide legal advice on various laws and rules related to our businesses and engage with our senior business and sales executives.What you will do:
- Draft and negotiate commercial agreements directly with business unit representatives.
- Advise business partners on legal, contractual, and risk matters impacting their business units or product sets.
- Partner with product teams to commercialize new products and functionalities.
- Provide legal consultation and advice on strategic initiatives, technology projects, and dispute resolution.
- Collaborate effectively with corporate specialists on credit, risk, finance, audit, tax, regulatory, privacy, and technology matters impacting the Merchant Solutions division.
- Develop and maintain forms of contracts and other legal documentation.
- JD from an accredited law school and in good standing with State Bar with no disciplinary record.
- Licensed to practice, and ability to become licensed as in-house counsel to practice, in the applicable state.
- 5+ years of relevant experience as a transactional lawyer.
- Experience interacting with senior management.
- Experience navigating data use and privacy matters.
- Technical contract experience.
- Exposure to financial services and technology contracts.
- The role will primarily be based in the Greater Fort Lauderdale area.
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. A Financial Services Technology, Mobile Banking and Payments Solution Company considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and lead to stronger productivity.
