A British Multinational Defence, Security, and Aerospace Company' Electronic Systems Sector is seeking an experienced lawyer to join its Legal team. As a member of the ES Legal team, the selected individual will join a fast-paced and dynamic environment and provide legal support to a broad range of businesses, including the company's Fast Labs organization. Fast Labs is a world-class research and microelectronics organization on the cutting edge of innovation and taking on "never been done before" challenges. The successful candidate will be responsible to provide legal advice and representation involving all matters where the Company, including its subsidiaries and affiliates is, or would be, a party.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will be a hybrid role, with time being split between working onsite and remotely. This individual can work from either our Nashua, NH or Arlington, VA offices.

Duties to include:
  • This position supports assigned businesses under direction of the Deputy Chief Counsel, specifically Fast Labs.
  • Conducts legal research under minimum supervision and prepares written opinions based on that research.
  • Guides the successful resolution of legal problems and provides counsel to all levels of management, including senior management, on best courses of action.
  • Negotiates and prepares a variety of contractual documents including, but not limited to, licenses, contracts, non-disclosure agreements and teaming agreements.
  • May consult with or refer matters to outside counsel as required, typically upon recommendation of the Deputy Chief Counsel.
  • May assist with analysis and advice regarding litigation and pre-litigation matters.
  • Conducts internal investigations under the supervision of the Deputy Chief Counsel.
  • Assists in the preparation of various legal training courses.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills:
Required Education:
Juris Doctorate Degree and admission to practice in the United States, preferably the State Bar of NH, NY, VA, or MA.

Required Experience:
  • 8+ years of applicable experience in a Corporate Counsel role.
  • Extensive government contracts experience with in-depth knowledge of the FAR/DFARS and other relevant government contracting rules and regulations.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of eight (8) years or equivalent of prior experience in a law firm government contracts practice, government agency, or federal contracting in-house environment.
  • Experience in a technology/product-based organization, particularly one focused on research and development.
  • Experience with software licensing, research and development agreements, and other contractual documents unique to the development and production of advanced materials, microelectronics and integrated circuits.
  • Understanding of advanced electronics, artificial intelligence, autonomy, RF, EO/IR, and cyber capabilities, as well as the legal issues and challenges facing such technologies.
  • Ability to obtain security clearance is required, and current active Secret clearance is preferred.
