Description:

Lieb at Law, P.C. is hiring a Senior Litigation Attorney to join our growing boutique firm. This is not a rinse-and-repeat litigation job. If you thrive on complexity, variety, and creative legal problem-solving, read on.

Who You Are:
  • You're energized by high-stakes challenges that don't come with an instruction manual
  • You know that great legal writing and reasoning can apply to any matter if you're sharp enough to adapt
  • You don't just want “winnable” cases—you want interesting ones
  • You instinctively look for leverage, not just precedent
  • You lead with “I can”, not “but”
  • You're the kind of person who never lets an email go unread, who juggles strategy and details without missing a beat
  • You're confident enough to train junior attorneys, humble enough to do the work yourself, and collaborative enough to thrive in a tight-knit team
  • You're comfortable in state, federal, arbitration, defense, plaintiff, and appellate settings—and know how to switch gears quickly
  • You understand that AI is not the enemy of law, it's the future—and you know how to prompt it like a pro

What we do:
At Lieb at Law, no two cases are ever the same. Our senior litigators handle:
  • Complex commercial litigation
  • Employment law (discrimination, retaliation, wage, whistleblower)
  • Regulatory defense and licensed industry matters
  • Housing and education discrimination
  • Real estate brokerage disputes
  • Antitrust and unfair competition
  • Appeals in state and federal courts

We operate with a lean, high-output team. We collaborate. We argue with precision. We build strategy like architects and execute like trial warriors. And we're actively expanding to meet increasing demand across NY, NJ, and CT.

Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of litigation experience, with proven success across complex and varied matters
  • Admitted in New York (NJ and/or CT a plus)
  • Strong record of wins in motion practice and courtroom advocacy
  • Exceptional legal writing, reasoning, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrated ability to set litigation strategy independently on nuanced, high-stakes cases
  • Direct experience managing and mentoring junior associates, including delegation, feedback, and performance oversight
  • Must be willing to work full-time, in office, at our Smithtown, NY headquarters — no remote or hybrid options
  • Minimum of 1900 annual billable litigation hours required
  • Able to lead without supervision, drive team outcomes, and contribute to firm-wide strategic planning
  • Highly organized, detail-obsessed, and a proactive communicator who never lets an issue linger
  • Comfortable using technology and AI tools in legal research, drafting, and case management — we don't just use AI, we teach CLEs on it
  • Embraces a "no task is beneath me" mindset and thrives in a collaborative, high-performance boutique team

What we offer:
  • Challenging, high-level work that keeps you thinking
  • A respectful, energized team that values intellectual rigor
  • Full support from smart associates and paralegals
  • Full support from business and operations team
  • A firm culture that rewards curiosity, flexibility, and drive
  • Competitive salary with growth potential, including additional compensation tied to your contribution to fee collections
  • The chance to help lead a modern litigation firm that's shaping how boutique practice works in a tech-forward world
