Position Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will independently manage a litigation caseload from inception through trial, including:
- Conducting all phases of civil litigation
- Drafting pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda
- Managing written discovery and taking or defending depositions
- Court appearances and oral argument
- Client counseling and case strategy
- Trial preparation and active participation in jury trials
- Collaborating with attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to achieve the best possible outcomes for clients
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
- Active membership in the California State Bar in good standing
- Minimum of 8–10 years of civil litigation experience
- Extensive personal injury litigation experience
- Proven trial experience is required. Candidates should have meaningful courtroom experience, including serving as first-chair or second-chair in jury trials.
- Strong experience handling discovery, law and motion practice, depositions, mediation, and trial preparation
- Excellent legal research, writing, negotiation, and oral advocacy skills
- Exceptional analytical and critical-thinking abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Strong leadership, case management, and mentoring skills
- Excellent client service and interpersonal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, Lexis, Abacus Law, and other standard legal software
