Description:
A well-established insurance defense firm is seeking an experienced Trucking / Commercial Transportation Attorney with 10–20 years of experience to join our New York City or New Jersey offices.The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling commercial transportation and trucking matters, including high-exposure and catastrophic loss cases. This position offers the opportunity to manage complex litigation, work directly with carriers and commercial clients, and play a key role in case strategy and resolution.
In addition, the firm will provide structured, in-person training beginning in March, focused on advanced litigation strategy, trial preparation, and continued professional development to further strengthen leadership and case management capabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of trucking and commercial transportation defense matters from inception through trial or resolution
- Handle high-exposure and catastrophic injury cases
- Conduct and defend depositions, including expert and corporate representative depositions
- Draft and argue dispositive motions
- Appear in court for conferences, hearings, mediations, and trials
- Provide detailed reporting and strategic analysis to insurance carriers and commercial clients
- Mentor junior attorneys as appropriate
Qualifications:
- 10–20 years of litigation experience
- Significant experience handling commercial transportation and trucking defense matters (required)
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, high-value cases independently
- Admitted to practice in New York and/or New Jersey
- Strong deposition, motion practice, and trial experience
- Excellent analytical, writing, and case management skills
