Description:
Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries. Ensures their effective operation in accordance with federal, state and local laws.

Essential Functions:
  • Provide legal counsel, advice, review and direction to various departments and members of management on all levels.
  • Ensure company compliance with all applicable federal, state & local commercial regulations & ensure that all legal obligations of the company are properly recognized & carried out.
  • Stay abreast of existing & new regulations & review, analyze & provide comments to notices of proposed rulemakings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Education:
Juris Doctorate degree from an Accredited Bar Association (ABA). Accredited law school and admission to the bar. Superior academic record.

Minimum Experience:
Six (6) years of experience and demonstrated competence as a practicing attorney in a relevant area of law.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to determine appropriateness of settlement or litigation. Excellent research and writing skills. Strong negotiation, human relations and communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Transportation industry experience, with legal expertise in environmental law (e.g., RCRA, CERCLA), sustainability, industrial hygiene and/or OSHA. Ability to conduct legal/technical review of sampling data and results, and effectively communicate with SMEs and Leadership to ensure compliance.
