DaBella is seeking an Associate Counsel to support the company's growing legal and compliance needs across multiple states. This role will partner closely with business leaders across departments—including HR, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and Finance—to provide practical legal guidance that supports business objectives while mitigating risk.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on, business-minded attorney who can balance legal strategy with operational practicality. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of legal matters, including contracts, employment issues, regulatory compliance, and risk management within a fast-growing organization.

Location: Austin, TX (In-Office)

What You'll Do:
Contracts & Commercial Matters
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of commercial agreements including vendor contracts, service agreements, and partnership agreements
  • Provide guidance on contract interpretation, obligations, and risk mitigation
  • Maintain and improve contract review processes and templates

Employment & HR Support
  • Partner with HR leadership on employment law matters including employee relations, investigations, wage and hour compliance, and policy development
  • Provide legal guidance on disciplinary actions, terminations, and workplace investigations
  • Assist with employment-related compliance across multiple states

Regulatory & Compliance
  • Support compliance efforts related to consumer protection laws, licensing requirements, and industry regulations
  • Assist in developing internal policies and compliance programs
  • Monitor regulatory changes that may impact company operations

Risk Management & Dispute Resolution
  • Evaluate legal risks related to business operations and provide practical solutions
  • Assist in managing disputes, demand letters, and litigation matters in partnership with outside counsel
  • Help coordinate responses to legal claims and government inquiries

Cross-Functional Legal Support
  • Provide day-to-day legal support to internal stakeholders across departments
  • Help translate legal concepts into practical guidance for business leaders
  • Contribute to training initiatives on legal and compliance topics

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • 3–6 years of legal experience at a law firm or in-house legal department
  • Strong experience reviewing and negotiating commercial agreements
  • Solid understanding of employment law and corporate compliance
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly to non-legal stakeholders

Preferred:
  • Experience supporting multi-state operations
  • Background in consumer services, home services, construction, or retail environments
  • In-house legal experience within a growing company
