Description:
Role Summary:The Senior Associate General Counsel will provide leadership and guidance on a broad range of legal matters and ensure that legal and contractual risks are identified and mitigated but main responsibilities will involve medical malpractice defense, labor & employment, and risk management/insurance.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Provide advice and support on a variety of legal issues relating to medical malpractice defense, labor & employment issues, and risk management.
- Work directly with business counterparts to identify legal risks and issues arising in day-to-day operations, contractual matters, and business transactions.
- Counsel management team on proposed arrangements and complex legal matters.
- Manage and coordinate matters with outside counsel.
- Review and analysis of arrangements between A Leading Healthcare Provider Company and other parties for compliance with Stark, anti-kickback and other fraud and abuse laws, HIPAA, and any other regulatory requirements applicable to such arrangements.
- Other duties, as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- JD from an ASA-accredited institution.
- Six (6) plus years of experience in health care law. Working knowledge of healthcare regulations is required.
- Member of Florida State Bar or member in good standing in another state or District of Columbia.
- Research, analytical, organizational, and computer skills.
- The ability to work independently but within a team framework.
- The ability to be extremely responsive to a high volume of requests.
- Strong customer service orientation, meticulous attention to detail and initiative are essential.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the company, including senior executives.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Physician contracting experience is a huge plus.
