Primary Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the delivery of legal services and related support to our state regulatory team
- Fostering key regulatory relationships and working with state regulators on a daily basis
- Collaborating with colleagues across the An American For-Profit Managed Health Care Company legal department
- Proactively identifying and resolving legal and related matters impacting
- Assisting in the review, preparation and negotiation of various products, documents and contracts
- Participating in and leading negotiations with key customers and vendors
- Developing best practices for addressing emerging legal and business risks
- Supporting the development and delivery of new products
- Working in partnership with the Compliance team
- Counseling senior management on strategic business initiatives
- Managing outside counsel
Required Qualifications:
- Juris Doctorate (JD) degree
- 8+ years of experience providing counsel
- Experience collaborating across a matrixed business and legal environment
- Proven excellent legal research, writing and communication skills
- Proven skills in managing multiple and competing priorities
