We're seeking a Trial Attorney (remote) who shares our dedication to lawful immigration and advocacy. We are looking for a skilled Trial Attorney with a background in immigration law and Circuit Court proceedings. This is a remote position, however some travel will be required to attend hearings. With competitive pay, starting at $90,000 annually, with the potential for higher compensation for highly qualified candidates. Duties:
- Represent clients before the EOIR for Master Calendar, Bond and Merits hearings as assigned;
- Prepare and represent clients in Affirmative Asylum interviews before USCIS as assigned;
- Prepare clients and witnesses for hearings;
- Draft legal briefs, motions, and submit filings in EOIR matters;
- Collaborate with the trial team to ensure high quality, innovative legal representation to clients;
- Provide input when determining the strategy of a case and execute legal strategy as determined by the supervising attorney;
- Identify processes and procedures that increase efficiency and positive case outcomes, share those observations with the director of legal services;
- Willingness to travel as needed for hearings and asylum interviews.

Experience:
- Law Degree (JD) from an ABA-accredited U.S. institution and admission to any state bar
- 2 years of experience of deportation defense (at least 10 trials)
- Demonstrated commitment to immigration law
- Excellent writing skills
- Flexibility
- Demonstrated success rate in front of EOIR and BIA
- Ability to oversee and provide supervision on a reasonably high case volume and work under time pressure
- Demonstrated ability to promote an organizational culture that reflects Lively Law Firm's core values of empathy, fearlessness, and excellency

- Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
Additional Information:
This position includes 30 days of paid time off (15 vacation/personal/sick days; 15 paid holidays); excellent benefits, including reimbursement of major health insurance, life insurance, long-term disability, retirement plan, and the ability to work from home. This position is remote though does require travel for court appearances with sometimes little notice.
