Position Overview:We are seeking an experienced trial attorney to join our practice in a remote capacity, with travel within California for court appearances and trials. This role is ideal for a seasoned litigator who has tried civil jury cases to verdict as lead counsel and wants to handle complex, diverse insurance defense matters from inception through trial.
Required Qualifications:
- Active membership in the California State Bar
- Minimum of 5 years of litigation practice
- Civil jury trial experience to verdict as lead counsel
- Strong litigation skills and a desire to continue trying cases
- Ability to work independently while contributing to team objectives
- Willingness to travel within California for court appearances and trials
Preferred Qualifications:
- Insurance defense litigation experience
- Experience taking depositions and examinations under oath
- Track record of successful motion practice
- Experience developing case strategy with clients
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as first chair in civil jury trials
- Manage the full lifecycle of cases from initial assignment through verdict or resolution
- Develop and execute case strategies in collaboration with clients
- Conduct depositions and examinations under oath
- Draft and argue motions
- Prepare legal opinions and analysis
- Work effectively in a remote environment while maintaining strong team collaboration

Ideal Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail-oriented, comfortable in front of a jury, and capable of managing a substantial caseload while working remotely.
Location:
- Fully remote – candidates may reside anywhere in California
- No requirement to live near or commute to our Pleasanton main office
- Some travel required for court appearances and trials throughout California
Compensation:
$200,000 – $250,000 annually, depending on experience.
