Patel Law, P.C., a respected Urbana-based personal injury and criminal defense firm led by U.S. Navy Veteran and trial attorney Baku N. Patel, seeks an experienced Plaintiff Personal Injury Attorney to join our team remotely on a commission-based model.

You'll manage a steady stream of cases with support from case managers and paralegals, and work in close collaboration with Mr. Patel on strategy, settlements, and litigation decisions.

Position Overview:
You will independently manage personal injury cases from intake through litigation and resolution, coordinating closely with the support team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Consultations; assess liability/damages/coverage; retainer compliance.
  • Direct staff on records and client communications
  • Evaluate treatment and case value;
  • Provide regular client updates
  • Use CasePeer (experience preferred; any CRM experience is transferable)
  • Draft demands and settlement packages; negotiate with adjusters and defense counsel; handle lien reduction negotiations (providers, Medicaid/Medicare, ERISA, subrogation);
  • Draft and file pleadings, discovery, and motions;
  • Take and defend depositions; handle mediations and settlement conferences; coordinate local counsel for appearances; assist with trial preparation and strategy as needed.
  • Maintain detailed notes and documents in CasePeer

Qualifications:
  • J.D.; Illinois license in good standing.
  • 3+ years of plaintiff personal injury experience (intake through resolution).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, organization, and writing skills.
  • Experience using CasePeer preferred (other CRM experience translates).
  • Self-directed and effective in a remote environment.

Compensation:
  • Commission-based compensation tied to net recovery.
  • Expected annual income $100,000+ based on firm's average from anticipated assigned caseload over the past five years
  • 1099 contractor; W-9 required.
  • Flexible hours; remote collaboration with Urbana headquarters and Mr. Patel.
