Overview:
We are seeking a full-time real estate attorney to join our busy team. The successful candidate must be detail-oriented and have the ability to work under pressure. The position offers the opportunity to work with a great, hard-working team where you will expand your skills and knowledge. The candidate will be responsible to review, draft and negotiate all aspects of retail, office and warehouse lease agreements, with a heavy emphasis on street store locations, and all lease related documents. Additionally, the candidate will provide assistance to other corporate departments regarding interpretation of existing lease documents and resolution of lease related issues, as well as, work with the Construction, Procurement and Utilities Departments to review existing and proposed new contracts. The successful candidate will work directly with and provide guidance to the Senior members of the respective Departments that we support.

Responsibilities:
  • Review, draft and negotiate retail, office and warehouse lease agreements. Position requires work on the more sophisticated, time-sensitive and high-profile store and office locations.
  • Support and provide guidance to less senior members of the Team.
  • Review estoppel certificates, and subordination and non-disturbance agreements.
  • Work with other corporate departments to answer questions regarding existing leases and resolve lease related disputes.
  • Review, draft and negotiate settlement agreements.
  • Review and negotiate standard contracts for the Construction, Procurement and Utilities departments.
  • Review Utility Charges with the Camp Hill Utility Department to ensure that existing/proposed charges are in-line with applicable State/Industry standards.
  • Prepare Construction Lease Abstract for review by Construction Department.

Qualifications:
  • Must hold a Juris Doctorate degree.
  • Must be licensed to practice law (preferably in New York State).
  • Must have at least 5 years retail leasing experience in either a corporation or law firm.
  • Solid written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to respond quickly and accurately to all requests and assignments.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage time independently.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
