The Opportunity:
Orion is seeking an experienced and highly motivated attorney with a minimum of 4 years of commercial leasing experience. The Real Estate Attorney is responsible for negotiating and drafting land agreements, negotiating Confidentiality Agreements and consulting agreements, and providing support for corporate transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Draft, review and negotiate land agreements such as lease, purchase options and easements
  • Support for project sale, debt and equity financing transactions
  • Oversee high level title, survey and mineral due diligence processes to identify and mitigate risks
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including developers, landowners and outside counsel to ensure successful project development
  • Asset management, including ongoing landowner relations
  • Corporate housekeeping, confidentiality and consulting agreements, law firm engagement letters, and other miscellaneous corporate legal work
  • Other real estate tasks related to the Company's project development portfolio

Experience/Qualifications:
  • Strong background in commercial leasing and real estate transactions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Expertise in drafting and negotiating land agreements
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to changing priorities
  • Familiarity with title, survey, mineral rights and land use due diligence
  • Renewable energy experience a plus
  • JD degree required and must be admitted to practice in California

Knowledge/Skills:
  • Thorough knowledge of leasing, title and asset management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to articulate legal advice clearly and concisely, both in writing and verbally
  • Must be detail-oriented and have strong organizational skills

Working Conditions:
Must work at least 2 days per week at our Oakland headquarters, other days may be remote

Compensation:
$160k-180k annually, depending on experience
