Description:
A Video Game Developer Company is looking for an experienced Counsel, Litigation to join our Legal team. In this role, you will handle a variety of consumer disputes, including small claims, single-user arbitrations, and regulatory responses related to consumer complaints and advise our Trust & Safety teams. You will report to our Head of Litigation.The position is based at A Video Game Developer Company Headquarters in San Mateo, CA. A Video Game Developer Company mandatory in-office days are Tuesday through Thursday with optional in-office days on Monday and Friday.
You Will:
- Directly handle small claims and single-user arbitrations
- Collaborate with and manage outside litigation counsel as needed for international and more complex consumer disputes
- Address pre-litigation consumer disputes, including our Mandatory Informal Dispute Resolution process
- Advise our Trust & Safety teams related to handling consumer disputes
- Support Legal department and team related projects, as assigned
You Have:
- 3-5 years of litigation experience, with emphasis in consumer law and arbitrations
- Must have law firm experience; technology company experience preferred
- Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic organization preferred
- Litigation experience, with emphasis in consumer law and arbitrations
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and risk assessment
- Strong and effective drafting skills
- Exceptional communication skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships
- Practical business acumen, driving pragmatic business-oriented solutions
- A highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative approach
- Superb organizational skills and the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects at once
You Are:
- A member in good standing of the California Bar or another bar association with the ability to register as in-house counsel in California
- An accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently
