What you will do:
  • Manage professional liability and malpractice matters through all phases of litigation.
  • Develop case strategy and evaluate liability, causation, damages, and risk exposure issues.
  • Take and defend depositions, argue motions, and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
  • Draft and supervise the preparation of pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and expert materials.
  • Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for clients, insurers, and witnesses.
  • Collaborate with expert witnesses and consultants across a variety of professional disciplines.
  • Mentor junior associates and contribute to team development and training.
  • Participate in business development initiatives, client presentations, and industry events.
  • Support trial preparation and, where applicable, serve as first-chair or second-chair trial counsel.

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of litigation experience, preferably in professional liability, legal malpractice, insurance defense, or other complex civil litigation.
  • Admission to the Massachusetts Bar and good standing required; admission in other jurisdictions a plus.
  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage a litigation docket.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
  • Strong client service orientation and interpersonal skills.
  • Interest in developing client relationships and contributing to practice growth.
