Responsibilities:
We are looking for a highly skilled Product lawyer to act as strategic counsel to our livestreaming Product teams. You will need to understand their business goals, objectives, timing and processes and work cross-functionally to help to deliver on those goals. You will join a supportive and collaborative legal team, that is international in nature, passionate about the work they do and dedicated to delivering excellent stakeholder service.   • Advise Product teams on the application of laws and regulations as they apply to a regulated content platform;
  • Review new products, features, and initiatives and advise on legal risk mitigation strategies for A Video-Sharing Social Networking Service Company and its livestreaming features;
  • Draft and maintain online terms related to product initiatives, interfacing with operations teams who develop policies and processes to operationalise those terms;
  • Coordinate cross-functionally with partners in legal, compliance, privacy and public policy to provide legal guidance, practical solutions and external communications advice related to A Video-Sharing Social Networking Service Company and other consumer apps;
  • Serve as a business partner for livestream product legal requests;
  • Monitor, review and assess new laws that impact content platforms and provide timely advice on their implications to the business, including stakeholder training.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree plus a Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the California or New York bar or Registered In-house Counsel in the appropriate jurisdiction.
  • 3+ years of experience gained in a law firm or in-house team advising on regulated platform obligations and consumer laws;
  • You will have knowledge of the laws that impact user activities on a content platform like A Video-Sharing Social Networking Service Company and experience in applying those laws in practical situations. In particular, you will need expertise in consumer and platform laws and you will need to adopt a global outlook as this will enable you to propose creative solutions that enable the business to meet its goals;
  • A good understanding of laws relating to privacy, payments, electronic communications, marketing and promotions and online safety;
  • The ability to assess legal, practical and business risks in a fast-paced environment and provide actionable advice against tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communication skills, able to distil complex advice for business stakeholders and update/report effectively to other legal teams and cross-functional colleagues;

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A passion for and understanding of platform technology and how it intersects with law and policy;
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional teams to reach agreed positions swiftly and an ability to take control of matters and drive them forward to conclusion;
  • A positive, proactive and supportive approach to your stakeholders.
  • Prior in-house experience working with global internet or global technology companies is a plus. We would love it if you could bring additional language skills to the team.
