Job Description:The firm seeks a mid-level associate to join its Private Client Dispute Resolution practice in the New York office. Ideal candidates will have 4–5 years of experience handling trust and estate litigation matters, including contested proceedings in Surrogate's Court.
Candidates should have experience representing fiduciaries, beneficiaries, executors, trustees, and other interested parties in a broad range of trust and estate disputes. Experience with will contests, accounting proceedings, fiduciary removal actions, discovery proceedings, and other contested Surrogate's Court matters is preferred. A strong working knowledge of New York Surrogate's Court procedures and practice is required.
This position may be filled in New York. In accordance with applicable Pay Transparency Laws, the pay range for this position in these locations is $310,000 – $365,000. This range may not be applicable to other locations. An individual's actual compensation will depend on the individual's qualifications and experience.
Job Requirements:
- 4 to 5 years of trust and estate litigation experience
- Strong knowledge of New York Surrogate's Court procedures and practice
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school
- Admission to the New York Bar (or eligibility for admission)
- Experience with Connecticut trust and estate litigation matters and/or admission to the Connecticut Bar is preferred, but not required
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
