Description:
Faegre Drinker is seeking a mid- to senior-level associate attorney to join our Private Client practice in the New York City office. This position offers the opportunity to work on sophisticated estate planning, elder law, estate and trust administration, estate litigation and transfer tax matters for individuals, families, fiduciaries, non-profit organizations and closely held businesses. The associate will collaborate with attorneys across offices and contribute to a growing, team-oriented practice with a strong commitment to client service.Required Qualifications:
- Four or more years of experience in estate planning, preferably with an emphasis on transfer tax planning for high-net-worth individuals.
- Familiarity with trust and estate administration, including probate proceedings, trust administration, and gift and estate tax returns.
- Ability to produce high-quality work with minimal supervision.
- Strong academic credentials.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the New York bar, or eligibility to waive into the New York bar promptly after hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience advising clients on elder law matters such as long-term care planning, Medicaid planning, guardianships, and special needs planning.
- Experience with trust and estate litigation.
- Licensed and in good standing to practice in New Jersey.

The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position is $280,000 to $335,000.
Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location of where the position is filled and consistent with applicable law. The initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for attorneys, which includes, but is not limited to, productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
