Description:

About Us:
Bachus & Schanker LLC is a well-established and highly regarded personal injury law firm serving clients throughout Colorado. We are recognized for our commitment to providing exceptional legal representation in complex and high-value personal injury cases. Our team is dedicated to upholding the highest standards of legal advocacy and client service.

Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Prelitigation Attorney to join our department that manages large-value, serious injury cases prior to the filing of a lawsuit. This team handles some of our most challenging matters, including motor vehicle collisions involving surgeries or extended hospital stays, premises liability claims, and animal attack cases.

Attorneys in this group are expected to provide a personalized, boutique-style service and exceptional advocacy while strategically evaluating case value and recovery potential. Because insurance coverage is often insufficient to fully compensate clients, you will analyze all potential avenues of recovery and make recommendations on whether litigation is appropriate.

This role is ideal for a personal injury attorney with a strong client-service mindset and a strategic approach to complex case development. Litigation experience is highly beneficial, as it informs presuit strategy and evaluation, but this position does not include trial work.

What You'll Do:
  • Manage a docket of high-value personal injury cases in the prelitigation phase
  • Conduct in-depth liability and damages evaluations to determine case value and resolution strategy
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring regular, empathetic communication
  • Analyze insurance coverage and recovery options, including third-party liability and underinsured motorist claims
  • Collaborate with seasoned investigators, medical experts, and case managers to fully develop cases
  • Prepare recommendations on whether litigation is warranted
  • Provide personalized, boutique-style service and exceptional advocacy to clients during their recovery process

Qualifications:
What you bring:
  • Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado, in good standing
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in personal injury law, with strong knowledge of catastrophic injury cases
  • Litigation experience preferred, as it strengthens presuit analysis and strategy
  • Exceptional communication and client-relations skills, with the ability to provide concierge-level service
  • Strong analytical abilities to identify recovery options and make strategic recommendations
  • A commitment to the highest standards of ethics, professionalism, and client care

Benefits:
  • Generous compensation package including base salary and commission (opportunity to earn $125,000+)
  • Company-paid employee medical, dental, long-term disability, term life & AD&D insurance
  • Cafeteria Plan options (Dependent Care FSA, Medical FSA, HSA)
  • Optional supplemental coverage (Life, AD&D, Cancer, Hospital Indemnity, Accident, etc.)
  • 401(k) plan with firm contribution
  • Generous paid time off and firm-observed holidays
  • Continuing legal education and professional development

Why Join Us?
This is a unique opportunity to work on high-value personal injury cases at a presuit stage, leveraging the resources of a large firm while focusing on relationship-driven advocacy and strategic case evaluation. You will have access to:
  • Dedicated case manager support
  • Seasoned investigators
  • Lien resolution software
  • Expert databases and early expert engagement resources

Our passion truly is justice, and it is an honor to represent members of our community. If you are ready to take your personal injury career to the next level and provide unparalleled service to clients, we want to hear from you.
