The Role:We're hiring a Post-Bar Law Clerk to join our litigation team in Pasadena. This is a hands-on role for a recent law graduate who wants real litigation experience from day one, not document review in a back room. You'll work directly with our CEO and Senior Trial Counsel, our Vice President of Operations, and our Partner who oversees the litigation team.
This position is built as a path to Associate Attorney: once you're admitted to the State Bar of California, we expect to promote you to Associate, based on performance.
What You'll Do:
- Draft complaints, demand letters, and pre-litigation correspondence in employment matters
- Prepare written discovery (requests for production, special interrogatories, requests for admission, form interrogatories) and responses
- Draft meet-and-confer letters and help resolve discovery disputes
- Research and draft motions, oppositions, and mediation briefs
- Help prepare for depositions: outlines, exhibit sets, witness chronologies
- Review and summarize deposition transcripts, personnel files, and payroll records
- Support trial preparation as cases approach trial
What We're Looking For:
- J.D./L.L.M. from an accredited law school
- Have taken the California Bar Exam and are awaiting results, or have passed and are awaiting admission
- Strong legal research and writing skills; you should be comfortable drafting from a blank page
- Real interest in representing workers and in plaintiff-side litigation
- Organized and reliable, able to manage deadlines across many active cases
- Law clerk or externship experience in employment law or civil litigation is a plus
- Spanish fluency is a plus
