Job Summary:We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Personal Injury Attorney to join our law firm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in personal injury law and possess excellent research, writing, and negotiation skills. This role involves supporting attorneys in all aspects of personal injury cases, from initial client consultations through litigation and settlement negotiations.
Duties:
- preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests related to personal injury cases.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as LexisNexis and Lexby to support case strategies.
- Draft correspondence and maintain organized case files for efficient management of ongoing cases.
- Communicate with clients to gather information, provide updates, and address inquiries regarding their cases.
- Collaborate with medical professionals, insurance companies, and other parties involved in personal injury claims.
- Prepare for trial by organizing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders as needed.
- Stay informed about changes in laws related to personal injury, workers' compensation, family law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, environmental law, securities law, patent law, tribal law & regulations, and litigation practices.
Qualifications:
- Law Degree and pass of the Bar Exam
- Strong legal drafting skills with attention to detail in written communication.
- Proficiency in legal research methodologies and tools (LexisNexis and Westlaw).
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
- Familiarity with estate planning, environmental law, family law, landlord-tenant law, immigration law, securities law, workers' compensation law, patent law, tribal regulations is a plus.
- Prior experience in litigation support is highly desirable.
