Jett Accident & Injury Lawyers is a plaintiff personal injury and workers' compensation firm in St. Louis. We represent people hurt in auto crashes, dog bites, premises incidents, workplace injuries, and other negligence cases. We are hiring an associate attorney who will own a caseload from intake through settlement or verdict.

You will carry your own caseload. You set your calendar, return your own client calls, and decide what each file needs next.

What you will do:

Manage a caseload of pre-litigation and litigation files
Evaluate liability, damages, and coverage, and value claims
Prepare demand packages and negotiate settlements with adjusters
Decide with the firm owner when a case should be filed
Draft petitions, discovery, motions, and briefs
Take and defend depositions, attend mediations, and try cases
Be the primary contact for your clients: return calls, explain the process, set expectations, and deliver bad news when needed
Work with our paralegal and case management staff in Filevine to keep every file moving

What We Need:

Licensed in Missouri. Illinois license preferred but not required.
2+ years of personal injury experience, plaintiff or insurance defense
Working knowledge of how claims are valued: medical specials, liens, coverage limits, venue, and liability strength
Experience negotiating with adjusters or opposing counsel
Litigation experience: written discovery, depositions, motion practice. Trial experience is a plus.
Workers' compensation experience is a plus
Ability to communicate effectively with clients
The discipline to set and keep your own schedule
