A Full-Service Business Law Firm seeks an Associate Attorney
for its Irvine, CA office. Duties include: assist in procurement of
patents in the United States Patent & Trademark Office (USPTO),
prepare and prosecute domestic patent applications in a wide range of
technologies, prepare responses to U.S. Office Actions from the USPTO,
analysis of inventive technology for procurement of patents worldwide,
prepare international patent applications under the Patent Cooperation
Treaty and national phase patent applications, prepare recommendations
for responses to foreign office Actions/Examination Reports from foreign
Patent Offices, manage domestic and international intellectual property
portfolios for various clients, conduct prior art searches, prepare
legal analysis for technology related intellectual property, prepare
legal pleadings and papers for intellectual property and related
matters. Position requires a Juris Doctor and a Bachelor of Science in
Electrical Engineering, Bioscience, Mechanics, or similar technical
background; three years of experience in the Practice of Patent Law; a
License to practice law in California; and have passed the Patent Bar
Exam. Travel to trial and client meetings in CA and Western U.S. two to
four times per year and internationally one time per year. Wage range is
$195,000 to $215,000 annually.
