Faegre Drinker is actively recruiting a senior attorney to join its Nonprofit Organizations practice in our Minneapolis office. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of legal experience in private practice advising nonprofit organizations on the tax, corporate, and charitable trust issues that are unique to tax-exempt and nonprofit organizations. We will also consider applications from attorneys with a demonstrated interest in advising nonprofit organizations and who have experience in political law, corporate or tax law, including corporate and partnership tax, employee benefits, or trusts and estates.Faegre Drinker has a long-standing and highly respected practice advising many of the nation's leading charitable foundations. In Minnesota, our Nonprofit Organizations practice represents private foundations, community foundations, nonprofit hospitals and healthcare providers, cultural and arts organizations, colleges and other educational institutions, religious organizations, trade associations, and a wide variety of other nonprofit organizations. The attorney who fills this position will have the opportunity to take on a senior role managing and serving our nonprofit clients in Minnesota, while also having the opportunity to work with colleagues and clients from across the country.
A collaborative approach to the practice of law is essential for this position. We have a large Nonprofit Organizations practice and we work together as a close-knit team to serve our clients. Members of our Nonprofit Organizations group also work closely with lawyers in the firm's employment, corporate, real estate, intellectual property, and litigation groups to serve our nonprofit clients. Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and strong academic credentials are also required. The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position is $265,000 – $450,000.
Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location of where the position is filled and consistent with applicable law. The initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for attorneys, which includes, but is not limited to, productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
