Job Summary:
Negotiations & Communications Associate Attorney works directly with opposing counsel, consumers and authorized parties. Negotiations & Communications Associate Attorney is accountable for accessing and acting upon e-mails and telephonic communications sent to the firm regarding file negotiations and account resolutions. Each associate will gain substantial knowledge of state litigation process, internal controls and client and firm policies and procedures. This position has no billable hour requirements.

Essential Duties:
  • Respond to negotiations and pleading as needed
  • Management of both telephonic and written contact with opposing counsel and consumer
  • Accurately document the firm's system of record
  • Maintain case files and ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements
  • Use firm technology platforms for case tracking, document organization, and workflow management, including maintaining accurate litigation records
  • Utilize case management and document management software
  • Manage the preparation and distribution of legal correspondence to designated attorneys and firm staff

Requirements:
Education/Experience:
  • Juris Doctorate and admission to any state bar
  • Licenses in states where the firm operates are valuable: Arizona, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Tennessee, or Wisconsin

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
  • Requires the ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated sound judgment, discretion, and initiative when handling legal correspondence and time sensitive assignments
  • Fundamental knowledge of Microsoft Office Products
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Understand Company and Client policies and procedures to ensure files are documented properly
  • Collections Law experience is a plus
  • No court room experience required
