What You'll Do:
  • Advise elected boards of local public agencies that operate critical infrastructure to deliver essential community services (water, sewer, etc.).
  • Advise agricultural, industrial, commercial, and other landowners on obtaining and protecting water supplies to support existing and new land uses.
  • Craft contracts, navigate regulatory programs, and litigate in state and federal court.
  • Dive into water resources law, environmental law, land-use law, public finance law, good-governance law, and public contracting law, including the construction of public works responding to climate change.
  • Collaborate with a diverse, fast-paced, resourceful team in a highly supportive environment focused on client success and your success.

What We're Looking For:
  • 4-plus years of experience in a relevant practice area.
  • Comfort with direct client engagement and public meetings, or the willingness to learn.
  • Strong legal analysis, writing skills, and attention to detail.
  • A team player who thrives in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to attend occasional public meetings in the evening.
  • Interest in solving complex legal problems with creative solutions.
  • Demonstrated interest in the subject matter.
