Burke, Williams & Sorensen is a full-service law firm with deep expertise in public law and municipal representation, advising cities, counties, special districts, and other public agencies throughout California. We are seeking an associate with a minimum of 2 – 4 years of experience to join our expanding Public Law team.

The ideal candidate will have:

Experience with public agency or municipal law
Excellent writing, research, drafting, and analytical skills
Strong work ethic, self-starter, and team-oriented mindset
Ability to manage matters independently and interface directly with public officials and staff
Admission to the State Bar of California
The associate will be expected to:
Review and draft agreements, including public agency and municipal contracts
Conduct legal research and prepare legal memoranda
Assist with matters involving public contracting, procurement, and regulatory compliance
Support attorneys with transactional and advisory matters for public agency clients
Communicate effectively with clients, public officials, and colleagues as needed

The anticipated base salary range for this full-time role is $150,000 – $175,000 plus annual performance-based bonuses. The actual salary within that range will depend on the selected candidate's years of practice and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
