Position Overview:
The Patel Firm is seeking an attorney to work closely with our trial team on complex, high-stakes cases. This attorney will play a critical role in the success of our trial lawyers by handling the legal research, briefing, discovery, and deposition work that drives winning outcomes in court.

This is not a marketing role, not a client-intake role, and not a stepping-stone associate position. This is a serious litigation support role for a lawyer who enjoys the mechanics of litigation, tight deadlines, and producing high-quality written and oral work that trial lawyers rely on.

Core Responsibilities:

Drafting and responding to dispositive motions, discovery motions, motions to exclude, motions for summary judgment, and pre-trial motions
Legal research and brief writing at a high level (state and federal)
Taking and defending fact and expert depositions
Assisting trial attorneys with discovery strategy, including written discovery, privilege issues, and motion practice
Preparing trial support materials, including outlines, exhibit organization, and pre-trial filings
Coordinating with trial attorneys to execute litigation strategy efficiently and accurately

Primarily client-facing
A courtroom-first, trial lawyer role (though oral argument opportunities exist)

Qualifications:

J.D. from an accredited law school
Licensed to practice in Texas (or ability to become licensed promptly)
Strong legal writing skills (writing sample required)
Experience with civil litigation, preferably complex litigation or personal injury defense/plaintiff work
Comfortable handling depositions and motion hearings
Highly organized, responsive, and detail-oriented
