The growing Portland, ME office of Fisher Phillips is seeking a Mid-Senior Litigation Associate with 4+ years of defense-side complex litigation and/or employment litigation experience. Ideal candidates will bring meaningful background managing sophisticated matters independently, as well as a desire to develop an employment law practice and ultimately grow a book of business with the support of an innovative firm. This is a partner-track opportunity.About the role:
Qualified candidates will have significant experience handling complex litigation matters from inception through resolution, including:
- Drafting and responding to pleadings
- Managing written and electronic discovery, including e-discovery strategy
- Drafting and arguing dispositive and non-dispositive motions
- Taking and defending depositions
- Preparing witnesses, exhibits and strategies for trials, hearings or depositions
- Leading or substantially participating in mediations and trials
- Mentoring junior attorneys and collaborating with litigation teams
While prior employment law experience is preferred, we are equally interested in senior litigators from other defense-side complex litigation practices who demonstrate a strong interest in developing an employment law practice and contributing to firm growth.
