The Richmond office of McGuireWoods seeks an Associate to join its Financial Services Litigation Practice Group.

The cornerstone of McGuireWoods' financial services litigation group is the team's ability to effectively represent the interests of the vital, growing, and increasingly complex financial services sector. This includes fiduciary and wealth management litigation, consumer financial services litigation, and advice and counseling of the firm's financial institution clients. The firm also represents financial institutions in commercial disputes.

Job Requirements:
  • Qualified candidates will have 2-4 years of relevant experience in a law firm setting to include:
    • Consumer class action experience, including specifically experience representing national banks, mortgage servicing companies, and trust businesses
    • Experience handling consumer protection matters such as actions arising under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, the Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act, the Truth in Lending Act, the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
    • Securities and other complex class action experience
    • Clerkship experience a plus.
  • Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with client, business, and legal teams.
  • Candidates must have a strong academic record, excellent writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Virginia Bar is required.
