The Mentoring Attorney at Personal Injury & Compensation Lawyers plays a pivotal role in shaping the future of our firm by providing guidance and mentorship to junior attorneys while overseeing the operations of our Atlanta office. This position requires a seasoned attorney with strong leadership skills, a passion for fostering professional growth, and a commitment to delivering exceptional legal services. The ideal candidate will excel in mentorship, office management, team development, and performance management. The Mentoring Attorney will have a key role in contributing to the success and continued growth of our attorneys, firm, and clients.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Leadership and Mentorship:
  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior attorneys, assisting in their professional development and case management practices.
  • Advise attorneys regarding proper case development, assessment, and valuation for all phases of litigation.
  • Contribute and collaborate with junior attorneys in development of litigation and trial strategies as well as negotiations in mediation and/or through direct negotiations.
  • Participate in attorney training to enhance the legal knowledge and skills of junior attorneys.

Case Management:

  • Conduct regular case reviews to monitor and advise attorney productivity and progress toward goals, providing feedback as needed.
  • Assist in the development and oversight of professional development plans for attorneys within WLG Atlanta.

Performance Evaluation:

  • Provide regular reporting regarding attorney performance, growth according to firm criteria, and progress toward individual and firm goals.
  • Provide input for annual performance reviews.

Work Experience Requirements:
  • 15+ years of experience litigating cases
  • Admission to practice in Georgia Federal Courts preferred
  • Trial Experience
  • Trucking and/or Commercial case experience preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Prior mentoring and development responsibilities of junior attorneys preferred

Education Requirements:
  • Graduate of an ABA accredited law school
  • Current member, in good standing, of the State Bar of Georgia

Physical Requirements:
  • Office environment with normal business hours necessary to satisfactorily perform job functions.
  • Stand/Sit – Must be able to remain in a stationary position up to 50% of the time.
  • Walk – This position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, meeting rooms, office machinery, etc.
  • Use of hands/fingers to handle or feel – constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a copy machine/printer.
  • Climbs stairs – May occasionally ascends/descends the stairs to get to other floors, cafeteria, and parking area.
  • Carry weight/lift - Occasionally moves supplies weighing up to 10 pounds for various presentation and event needs.
