Mechanical Patent Attorney

Description:

Kim IP, a New Jersey based intellectual property law firm, is seeking a patent attorney with a background in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

We are seeking highly qualified and motivated candidates with excellent academic credentials, communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment. Prior engineering experience is a plus.

Attorney will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, managing IP portfolios, counseling clients, performing patentability and clearance opinions, with exposure to domestic and international prosecution, along with client contact and management. Qualified applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrated ability to deal with a variety of technologies and a strong mechanical engineering background.
• At least 3 years of law firm patent prosecution experience.
• JD, NJ State Bar or ability to gain admission to NJ, USPTO Bar.
• Engineering experience is a plus.
• Litigation experience a plus.
