Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Matrimonial Attorney to join our legal team in White Plains, New York. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of trial experience in complex family and matrimonial law. This role involves representing clients in divorce, equitable distribution of marital assets, child custody, child and spousal support, and other related matters. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert legal counsel, advocating for our clients' rights, and navigating high net worth and complex matrimonial litigation cases.

Key Responsibilities of the Matrimonial Attorney:
  • Represent clients in matrimonial litigation, including divorce, child custody, alimony, and property division cases
  • Provide legal advice and counsel to clients on family law matters
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, attend court conferences, prepare cases for trial and serve lead trial counsel
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate and advocate aggressively in court when necessary
  • Maintain accurate case records, documentation, and billing entries
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, legal professionals and experts to achieve favorable outcomes for clients
  • Stay current with changes in divorce and family law and attend relevant legal education and training programs

Qualifications of the Matrimonial Attorney:
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the New York State Bar Association
  • Minimum of five years of trial experience in family and matrimonial law
  • Strong courtroom presence and excellent oral advocacy skills.
  • Exceptional research and writing skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a caseload efficiently
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Appellate experience a plus.
  • Compassion, empathy, and sensitivity when dealing with clients in difficult personal situations
