Job Summary:
Glanbia Performance Nutrition is seeking a talented and business-minded Litigation and Marketing Counsel to join our Legal Department. This role will provide strategic legal guidance on the advertising, labeling and marketing compliance of a portfolio of food, beverage and dietary supplement products.

Responsibilities:
Marketing and Advertising Compliance & Litigation Support
  • Provide day-to-day legal counseling on advertising, marketing, labeling and compliance matters involving food, beverage and dietary supplement products
  • Evaluate claims substantiation assessments in partnership with Regulatory and Scientific Affairs
  • Support litigation management and threatened claims, demand letters and investigations involving advertising, labeling and consumer protection matters and assist with responses to regulatory inquiries, challenges, competitor disputes and self-regulatory proceedings
  • Draft, review and negotiate various marketing and advertising-related agreements, including sponsorship, promotion, talent, endorsement and event-related partnerships

Client Interaction & Counseling
  • Provide creative and proactive advice on a broad range of legal issues to proactively manage legal risks where exposures exist
  • Maintain a working knowledge of all company policies and procedures, including laws and regulations applicable to the business
  • Develop relationships to become a trusted advisor, creative problem-solver and partner to cross-functional groups
  • Develop and deliver training materials and practical legal guidance for marketing, innovation and commercial teams

  • Strong understanding of the following areas of law: federal and global consumer protection laws and labeling, marketing and advertising statutes, regulations and guidelines applicable to sale of food and dietary supplements

Education/Experience:
  • J.D. degree with strong academic credentials from a top U.S. law school
  • At least 5 years of related legal experience, preferably with time spent in a top-tier law firm and global consumer products company in the Food/Beverage industry advising clients on FDA-regulated products, including foods, beverages and dietary supplements.
  • Member in good standing of at least one state bar association (IL preferred)
