As we continue to grow our firm, we are currently looking for a Legal Counsel to join our office in Chicago, IL to support our client relationships and services delivery. ZS is a global consulting firm and a leader in life sciences consulting with leading-edge analytics, technology and strategy expertise, creating solutions for clients that work in the real world.Our clients include leading pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, healthcare services, and digital health organizations worldwide. The ZS Legal Team offers a collaborative working environment to support ZS' fast-growing, innovative and cutting-edge services and technology products. We are looking for an attorney who will serve as a strategic advisor to ZS's business leaders and project teams on healthcare regulatory matters, helping enable growth while managing legal and compliance risk. This role will partner closely with commercial attorneys, compliance professionals, business leaders, and client teams to support a broad range of healthcare-related engagements and initiatives.

What You'll Do:
  • Serve as a trusted legal and business partner for ZS stakeholders on healthcare regulatory matters affecting client engagements, and ZS products, services and strategic initiatives;
  • Prepare, review, revise and negotiate regulatory provisions in legal agreements, such as services agreements, vendor agreements, and licensing agreements
  • Advise internal stakeholders on healthcare laws and regulations including HIPAA, the Anti-Kickback Statute and Stark law, False Claims Act, and FDA regulations, and assist in evaluating regulatory risk for ZS
  • Respond to issues as they arise in diverse matters affecting day-to-day business operations by assisting, advising, investigating, researching and resolving legal matters;
  • Collaborate with others on the legal team and within ZS when subject matter expertise is required; and
  • Identify potential legal issues related to proposed services, and make appropriate recommendations

What you'll bring:
  • JD degree with strong academic background required
  • 5+ years of experience handling U.S. healthcare regulatory matters and active bar admission in Illinois (or registered in-house counsel in IL)
  • Familiarity with GxP requirements preferred
  • Superior oral and written communication skills
  • Motivation, personal initiative and strong team/interpersonal skills
  • Strong drafting skills, analytic skills and problem solving ability
  • Proven attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment
