Description:We are looking to add a Unit Leader (Sr. Level Attorney) to the A Nationally-Recognized Full-Service Creditors' Rights Law Firm team in our Dublin, Ohio location. This opening is created to have the ideal candidate shadow and learn from the current Shareholder to take over once he retires.
This Attorney would be responsible for providing strategic leadership for the Litigation and Complex Collection Business Unit to establish long-range goals, strategies and plans. The selected person would provide leadership and management to ensure that the office/unit is putting into practice the mission and core values of the Firm and be responsible for the overall financial performance of the local law office or business unit.
Responsibilities:
- Manages and supports new business activity by collaborating with Sales and Marketing to develop and implement marketing strategies.
- Establishes credibility throughout the Firm as an effective developer of solutions to business challenges.
- Works cross functionally with A Nationally-Recognized Full-Service Creditors' Rights Law Firm internal departments to drive business improvements and implement best practices to both the Firm and clients.
- Demonstrates a positive demeanor to lead change and support Firm initiatives.
- Drives the local business unit to achieve and surpass sales, profitability, business goals and objectives.
- Acts within the policies standards and compliance regulations established by the Firm.
- Provides appropriate mentoring and serves as a resource for less experience legal and support staff.
- Assist with the training and development of staff.
- Manage national legal and replevin network; consult with clients and local attorneys on legal issues.
- Litigation for traditional legal programs.
- Litigation for Central Ohio.
- Defense matters including counterclaim defense.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor Degree (J.D.) and relevant experience and/or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
- Experience as a litigation attorney.
- Must have trial experience.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
- Ability to respond effectively, and discretely, to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages.
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
- Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
- Knowledge of relevant laws, legal codes, legal/court procedures, precedents, and government regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (F.D.C.P.A.) and other applicable consumer protection statutes and regulations, and processes and documents specific to assigned specialty area; electronic legal research tools such as LexisNexis; ability to interpret and apply legal principles and procedures and develop effective working relationships with clients, co-workers, and court systems.
- Must hold a current, valid state license to practice law.
- Must practice according to the rules of professional conduct and ethical standards as required by the attorney's licensing state.
- Ability to work independently, consistently meet deadlines, and effectively handle and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
- Must have polished professional public speaking skills and be comfortable in a courtroom setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
